Now *that* is my show!
So just finished watching SPN 3.10
OMG, I love this show. I loved this ep! Possibly my favourite of this season so far.
We have death by nightmares and dreamwalking and controlling other people's dreams, which really is a plot I love. The Nightmare on Elm St movies are the only slasher (as in horror, not as in boy kissy) type movies I ever voluntarily tried watching when I was a teenager and I must have seen Dreamscape at least 20 times. It's just such a rich and fun concept when done right and I think SPN did it right.
We have Bobby -- with backstory, yay. His wife was possessed and he killed her because he didn't know how else to stop her. Which really fits with what we've seen. Though, dear SPN wardrobe people. It is possible for the doomed wife/girlfriend of a hunter to wear something OTHER than a white nightgown/dress. Really.
We have Sam having smutty dreams about Bela which just goes to prove that the boy needs to get LAID. His reactions upon waking up had me chortling with glee.
We have Bela -- which for me is a plus because I have loved her character from the start -- seemingly helping them and then at the end turning out to be her usual amoral coniving self. I do want to whap her for stealing the colt but that doesn't mean I still don't like the character.
Dean's dreamworld -- with the glimpse of Lisa and a normal life with her and Ben -- OH DEAN. And the confrontation with all his fears and self hatreds and insecurities and him getting angry enough to fight back against them was just... wow. And it's official. *EVERY* Winchester is even hotter as a demon. Ngggggg.
Sam going all dream master on the druggie kid made me squee out loud -- go you boyking you! I'm chalking that up, along with the killing Gordon with his bare hands and the possible use of command voice against Ruby (or it could've just been echoy acoustics, but I prefer to think command voice) as another (more blatant?) hint that Sam's powers are still there and that when it comes down to it, he's going to go psychic kid medieval on Hell's ass to keep his brother.
And Dean at the end with his halting, "I don't want to die. I don't want to go to hell." was just... OH DEAN. And Sam of course immediately was back on the "there's no way my brother is going to hell" determination, now that he doesn't feel like he's having to fight Dean too. I just.... *squishes both boys*
I think I'll have more to say later that's deeper and more thinky when I've had a chance to rewatch it and digest everything a bit more. But suffice to say, I am a seriously happy camper right now.
