So brutal honesty meme? Yeah, that was never going to end well. I agree with sockkpuppett; honesty doesn't have to be -- and shouldn't be IMO -- brutal. If you can't figure out a way to say something honestly without making it a flame or blatantly hurtful, then maybe it's a "truth" that doesn't need to be shared.
Also? If the only way you can leave an "brutally honest" comment is anonymously? Then maybe you shouldn't leave it at all. Because that sort of implies that you know that there would be consequences to what you said that you aren't willing to deal with.
I haven't even clicked over to look at said brutal honesty meme -- much less participated -- because watching other people get blatantly hurtful things said about them isn't my idea of fun any more than having them said about me. It's an ugly side of fandom -- hell of human nature -- that I really don't have the time or energy to voluntarily subject myself to.
That being said, one of the things I do love about fandom is whenever something like that does happen, there is usually a response that appeals to our better natures -- in this case a love meme, hosted by notthequiettype. This one I'm whole heartedly participating in and happily so. My link is here.
